Things to do

Northport

Kristin cannot wait to marry Jack in her hometown. While you are there, we would love for you to explore beautiful downtown Northport. Here you can walk up and down historic Main Street, stop by Sand City Brewery for a drink, enjoy great pastries and desserts at Copenhagen Bakery, and grab a meal at Brew Cheese. Be sure to see the lovely views of Northport Harbor and walk through the park to the spot of Jack and Kristin's engagement! The Murphy's parish, Saint Philip Neri, is also home to a labyrinth that Kristin and her sisters built for their Girl Scout Gold Award. You can also head to Del Vino Vineyards, a new winery that opened up right next door to Kristin's elementary school, Norwood Avenue.

Port Jefferson / Stony Brook

Please join us at a Welcome Reception in Port Jefferson the night before the wedding. Another beautiful town on the water, we can't wait for all of our guests to experience more of "our" Long Island. Feel free to stop by Stony Brook University, where Jack has spent the past almost five years working on his PhD in math. This area on Long Island is the site of many date nights between Jack and Kristin. Some of their favorite activities include grabbing a drink at Po'Boy Brewery; ordering the Mapo Tofu, fried green beans, and Fisherman's Style Fish Filet from Green Tea (trust us); or checking out the tons of great restaurants in downtown Port Jefferson.

More

Kristin feels so lucky to have grow up on Long Island and Jack has so enjoyed his time living here the past few years. We want everyone traveling here to make the most out of their weekend and there is no better time to visit than the summer! Known for its wineries way out East, our favorites on the North Fork include Riverhead Cider House, Woodside Orchards, and Pindar Vineyards (but really you can't go wrong anywhere out there). Northport, and the rest of the North Shore, has beautiful beaches, but if you want the best ocean experience, head down to the South Shore to Robert Moses or Jones Beach. More summer-on-an-island-related-activities include golfing at Bethpage Black, chartered fishing trips, ferry to Fire Island, Long Beach boardwalk, the Hamptons, and Montauk Point lighthouse. Kristin and Jack have also enjoyed fun nights out in Huntington and Patchogue (at Blue Point Brewery!). You can also obviously utilize our close proximity to the Big Apple if you want to do some exploring in New York City.
